Booking & Payment
How do I book a 3 Island Liveaboard trip?
Book directly through this website or message our reservation team on WhatsApp at +62 811-3823-875. We confirm your preferred dates, cabin and itinerary, then send a booking summary and payment instructions. Booking well in advance is advised for high-season departures.
Is a deposit required when booking?
Yes. A 50% deposit secures your dates and cabin, with the remaining balance due 14 days before departure (H-14). Your booking is confirmed in writing once the deposit is received.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept bank transfer and major credit cards. Full payment details are provided with your booking confirmation, and every payment is acknowledged with a written receipt.
Can I pay for my trip in installments?
The standard schedule is already split in two: 50% deposit on booking and 50% by 14 days before departure. If you need a different arrangement, ask our team on WhatsApp and we will do our best to accommodate.
How can I check availability for my dates?
Send your preferred dates and group size via WhatsApp +62 811-3823-875 or the contact form. We reply with live availability, cabin options and a full quote, usually within a few hours.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms are stated clearly on your booking confirmation. As a rule, earlier cancellations retain more flexibility, while cancellations close to departure may forfeit the deposit. Travel insurance is strongly recommended to cover unforeseen changes.
What is the refund policy if the trip is canceled due to weather?
If the harbourmaster closes the port or conditions make sailing unsafe, we reschedule your trip to new dates or issue a credit. Guest safety always comes before the sailing schedule.
Is there a waiting list for fully booked departures?
Yes. Popular dry-season departures (April–November) can sell out 6–12 months ahead, so we keep a waiting list and contact you immediately if a cabin opens. Booking early is the safest option.
Can I book a liveaboard trip as a gift for someone else?
Yes. Provide the traveler’s details at booking and we will handle the rest, including a confirmation addressed to the recipient. All standard payment and cancellation terms apply.
Can I upgrade my cabin after booking?
Cabin upgrades are possible subject to availability. Contact us on WhatsApp as early as you can and we will confirm the upgrade and any price difference.
Prices & Inclusions
How much does a 3 Island Liveaboard trip cost?
Expect roughly USD 200–350 per person per night depending on cabin category, trip length and whether the charter is shared or private. A full quote with everything itemized is provided before you pay anything.
What is included in the package price?
Packages include accommodation on board, full meals, drinking water, snorkeling equipment, island trekking with licensed guides, and the published itinerary activities. Your quote lists inclusions and exclusions line by line.
Are meals included in the price?
Yes. All meals are freshly prepared on board and included, along with drinking water, tea and coffee. Dietary preferences are catered for when advised in advance.
How much is the Komodo National Park entrance fee?
The Komodo National Park entrance fee is IDR 650,000 per person and is normally paid separately from the charter price. We handle the permit paperwork so you simply board and enjoy the trip.
What is the total cost breakdown including fees and surcharges?
Your total is the charter fare plus the Komodo National Park fee of IDR 650,000 per person and any optional extras such as diving or equipment rental. There are no hidden surcharges — everything is itemized on your quote.
Are there discounts for group bookings?
Group and full-boat charter rates are available and often work out significantly cheaper per person than individual cabins. Send your group size via WhatsApp for a tailored quote.
Are there additional fees for special activities on board?
Optional extras such as certified dives, dive equipment rental, or special celebration setups carry additional charges. These are confirmed in writing before your trip so there are no surprises on board.
Is there a policy for tipping the crew?
Tipping is not mandatory but is warmly appreciated. Most guests give a pooled tip at the end of the trip, at their own discretion, as a thank-you to the whole crew.
Is travel insurance recommended?
Strongly. We recommend a policy that covers trip cancellation, medical treatment and — if you plan to dive — dive-specific coverage such as DAN.
How does a liveaboard compare in cost to a resort or cruise holiday?
A liveaboard bundles accommodation, meals, transport between islands and daily activities into one price, so a like-for-like comparison usually favors the liveaboard — and no resort can anchor you beside Padar at sunrise.
Cabins, Comfort & Life On Board
What type of accommodation can I expect on board?
Cabins range from cozy shared cabins to private en-suite staterooms with air conditioning, depending on the vessel and package chosen. All linens and towels are provided.
Is Wi-Fi available on board?
Cellular signal is available around Labuan Bajo and parts of the park, and we advise buying a local Telkomsel SIM for the best coverage. Expect to be happily offline at the more remote anchorages.
What are the dining options like?
Our chef prepares fresh Indonesian and Western meals daily, served on deck or in the dining area. Menus feature local seafood, tropical fruit and made-to-order breakfasts.
Are vegetarian or vegan meal options available?
Yes. Vegetarian, vegan and allergy-aware menus are available — just tell us your requirements at booking so the chef can provision accordingly.
How are dietary restrictions handled?
Advise us of any allergies or restrictions when you book. The chef plans and shops for your menu before departure, so nothing is left to chance once you are at sea.
Can I bring alcohol on board?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own wine, beer or spirits. Please purchase before departure in Labuan Bajo, as there are no shops once you are inside the park.
What is the smoking policy on board?
Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor deck areas, never in cabins or indoor spaces, out of respect for other guests and fire safety.
Is there a dress code on board?
No strict dress code — light, casual clothing and swimwear cover most of the trip. Bring a light jacket for breezy evenings on deck and modest attire for village visits.
Are there facilities for charging electronic devices?
Yes. Cabins and common areas have power outlets (220V, Indonesian two-pin plugs). Bring a universal adapter and a power bank for excursions.
Are there onboard entertainment options during downtime?
Downtime is best spent on the sun deck, but we also carry board games and speakers, and the crew is famous for sunset coffee and freshly fried banana snacks. Many guests say the star-filled night sky is the real entertainment.
Are laundry facilities available on board?
No, trips are short enough that laundry is not needed on board. Pack sufficient clothing; quick-dry fabrics work best in the tropics.
How do I handle seasickness on a liveaboard?
Komodo’s waters are generally calm in the dry season, but bring motion-sickness tablets or wristbands if you are sensitive. Staying hydrated and sitting on deck with fresh air helps most guests within a day.
Are there restrictions on electronic devices on board?
No formal restrictions — cameras, phones and laptops are all welcome. We only ask that speakers and calls are used considerately around other guests.
Itinerary & Destinations
How long does a typical trip last?
Our signature trip is the 3-day-2-night Komodo liveaboard covering Padar, Komodo and the pink beach — the classic three islands. Longer 4-day and private custom itineraries are also available.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Guests typically board in Labuan Bajo in the morning of day one and disembark before noon on the final day. Exact times are confirmed on your booking summary and coordinated with your flights.
Can I customize my itinerary?
Private charters are fully customizable — choose your islands, dive or snorkel sites and pace. Shared open trips follow the published route so every guest gets the signature highlights.
What unique experiences does a Komodo liveaboard offer?
Sunrise on Padar’s famous viewpoint, walking with Komodo dragons alongside a ranger, swimming at the pink beach, snorkeling with manta rays at Manta Point, and watching thousands of flying foxes leave Kalong Island at dusk.
What marine life will I see?
Komodo National Park is one of the world’s richest marine areas: manta rays, turtles, reef sharks, vibrant coral gardens and huge schools of tropical fish are common sightings on almost every departure.
How is a liveaboard different from staying at a land-based resort?
A liveaboard takes you to remote sites a day boat cannot reach, at the hours the wildlife is active — sunrise treks and early manta swims before the crowds arrive. You wake up already at the destination.
Is a liveaboard better than a day trip to Komodo?
Day trips squeeze 8+ hours of fast-boat travel into one rushed day. A 3-day-2-night liveaboard visits the same highlights unhurried, adds sunrise and sunset moments day boats always miss, and includes meals and accommodation.
Are there mandatory briefings before the trip starts?
Yes. A safety and itinerary briefing is held when you board, covering life-jacket locations, ranger rules inside the park, and the day-by-day plan.
Are there opportunities to learn about marine conservation on board?
Yes. Our guides share how Komodo National Park’s zoning and the IDR 650,000 park fee fund conservation, and brief you on reef-safe practice before every swim and snorkel session.
Season & Weather
When is the best time to go on a Komodo liveaboard?
The dry season from April to November is the best window — calm seas, sunny days and superb visibility. July–August is peak season; April–June and September–November offer the same conditions with fewer boats.
What is the weather like during the dry season?
From April to November expect sunny days around 28–33°C, calm seas and underwater visibility of 15–30 meters — ideal conditions for trekking, snorkeling and diving.
Can I visit Komodo in the rainy season?
Yes, trips run most of the year. December–March brings occasional rain and greener hillsides; some remote sites may be swapped for sheltered ones depending on conditions, always with safety first.
When should I book to get my preferred dates?
For dry-season departures (April–November), book 3–6 months ahead; for July–August peak dates and private charters, 6–12 months is safer. Last-minute cabins do appear, but choice is limited.
Safety & Crew
How experienced is the crew?
Our captains and crew are local seamen who have sailed Komodo’s waters for years and know its currents, anchorages and weather patterns intimately. Guides are licensed for Komodo National Park.
What safety measures are in place on board?
Life jackets for every guest, first aid kits, emergency oxygen, fire extinguishers, VHF radio communication and clear emergency procedures briefed at boarding. The vessel is maintained and certified to Indonesian marine standards.
What safety certifications does the crew hold?
Crew members hold first aid and CPR training, and dive staff carry professional dive qualifications. Certificates and vessel documents are available on request.
Is there a medical professional on board?
Like all Komodo liveaboards, we sail with first-aid-trained crew rather than a doctor. Labuan Bajo’s hospital and clinics are always within a few hours’ reach, and evacuation procedures are in place for serious cases.
What happens in case of a medical emergency at sea?
The crew follows a set emergency protocol: first aid on board, radio contact with shore, and fast-boat evacuation to Labuan Bajo if needed. This is one more reason we insist on travel insurance.
What is the crew-to-guest ratio?
We sail with a full crew — captain, chef, deckhands and guide — serving a small guest group, which keeps service personal and safety oversight tight throughout the trip.
Do the crew speak English?
Yes, your guide speaks good English and handles all briefings and park communication. The rest of the crew speak basic English and are unfailingly helpful.
Are medical examinations required before joining?
No medical exam is required for snorkeling trips. If you plan to dive and have a pre-existing condition, bring a dive medical clearance — and always tell us about health concerns at booking.
Is there a recommended fitness level?
Moderate fitness is enough. The Padar viewpoint trek is the most demanding activity — roughly 30–40 minutes of stairs — and it can be taken at your own pace or skipped.
Are Komodo dragons dangerous to tourists?
Komodo dragons are wild predators, which is why all island treks are led by licensed park rangers who keep a safe distance at all times. Follow the ranger’s instructions and the visit is very safe — incidents involving tourists are extremely rare.
Diving, Snorkeling & Activities
What diving certification do I need?
An Open Water certification (or equivalent) is required for certified dives. Komodo has sites for all levels, though some current-swept sites are reserved for advanced divers at the guide’s discretion.
Do snorkelers need any certification?
No certification is needed to snorkel — just basic swimming ability. Masks, snorkels and fins are provided, guides accompany every session, and life vests are available for less confident swimmers.
Are there age restrictions for joining?
Families with children are welcome on snorkeling trips; kids are supervised and fitted with life vests. For diving, most certification agencies set a minimum age of 10–12 years.
Is diving equipment rental included?
Snorkeling gear is included. Full scuba equipment is available for rent at an additional charge — reserve it at booking so we can guarantee your sizes.
Should I bring my own diving gear?
Optional. Rental gear is well maintained, but many divers bring at least their own mask and computer for comfort. Tell us what you are bringing and we supply the rest.
Is night diving available?
Night dives can be arranged on suitable itineraries, subject to conditions and the divemaster’s assessment. Request them at booking so the schedule can accommodate them.
What are typical dive group sizes?
Small — usually 4–8 divers per guide. Small groups are safer in Komodo’s currents and give everyone a better view of the mantas.
Can non-divers learn to dive on board?
Introductory dive experiences can be arranged with a professional instructor on select trips. Ask when booking; for full certification courses we recommend completing theory beforehand.
Can I rent an underwater camera on board?
Underwater camera rental is not guaranteed on every departure, so bring your own if photography matters to you. Ask us in advance and we will confirm what is available on your boat.
Are drones allowed during the trip?
Drones are welcome for those magical aerial shots of Padar and the pink beach, but Komodo National Park requires a drone permit and rangers enforce no-fly zones near wildlife. Ask us for the current rules before you fly.
What activities are available besides diving?
Island trekking with rangers, snorkeling, paddleboarding or kayaking on select boats, beach time at Pink Beach, sunset photography, and the Kalong Island flying-fox spectacle at dusk.
Getting There & Preparation
How do I get to the departure point in Labuan Bajo?
Fly to Komodo Airport (LBJ) in Labuan Bajo — direct flights operate from Bali and Jakarta daily. The harbor is 10–15 minutes from the airport, and we coordinate boarding around your arrival.
Is airport transfer to the boat included?
Airport-to-harbor transfer can be arranged for you — confirm at booking whether it is included in your package or added at a small charge. Either way, our team meets you and gets you aboard smoothly.
Do I need a visa to visit Komodo?
Most nationalities can use Indonesia’s visa on arrival (30 days, extendable) when flying into Bali or Jakarta. Check the current requirements for your passport before travel.
Do I need vaccinations for the trip?
No special vaccinations are required for Komodo. Standard travel health advice for Indonesia applies — consult a travel clinic if you have specific concerns.
What should I pack for a Komodo liveaboard?
Light clothing, swimwear, reef-safe sunscreen, hat and sunglasses, walking shoes for the Padar trek, a light jacket for evenings, motion-sickness tablets if sensitive, and a dry bag for electronics.
Are there luggage limits on board?
Soft bags are preferred as cabins have limited storage. Standard airline luggage is fine; large hard cases are best left at your Labuan Bajo hotel, which we can help arrange.
Is there parking at the departure point?
Most guests arrive by flight and hotel transfer, so parking is rarely needed. If you are driving in Labuan Bajo, harbor-area parking exists but is limited — tell us and we will advise the best option.
What should I do if I miss the departure?
Contact us immediately on WhatsApp +62 811-3823-875. Where possible we arrange a speedboat to catch you up with the vessel at its first anchorage; costs for late joining are borne by the guest.
What is the etiquette when visiting local communities?
Dress modestly in villages, ask before photographing people, and support local sellers where you can. Your guide will brief you — Flores hospitality is legendary when it is returned with respect.
